Introducing AR RED Nick Hart: the new collection from Nick Hart, the creative talent behind his own luxury label and with almost two decades spent learning his trade from the best names 'The Row' has to offer. As is his trademark, Hart's vision for AR RED Nick Hart comes from his passion for music; particularly the Jazz scene from the swinging 60s and early 70s and all that went with it. He also looks to the past style-icons of the silver screen for inspiration, and in return, his designs have become a favourite of Hollywood's finest as well as London's best dressed, including the likes of Daniel Craig, David Bowie and Robbie Williams, to name but a few.
Unlike many of his contemporaries, Nick Hart didn't learn his craft in design school; rather, he cut his teeth learning on the job, working in a tailor's shop part-time from the age of 13 and then full-time shortly after leaving school at 16. It wasn't long before he was travelling to Milan twice a year to attend trade fairs and meet with various industry insiders.
It is through working with such prestigious names as Chester Barrie and Timothy Everest in the heart of London's tailoring quarter for the best part of two decades that Hart developed his true passion for fine tailoring and bespoke. In 2002, Nick Hart branched out on his own to set up the label 'Spencer Hart', named after his son and a best friend who died in his youth. The direction for the brand is one of luxurious minimalism, creating an air of understated, nonchalant sophistication.
It is this sense of intangible sharpness that he brings to his collaboration with Austin Reed, along with his signature slim silhouettes, sleek lapels and vintage-inspired design details. Austin Reed has provided luxury tailoring to discerning gentlemen since 1900 and this new partnership brings the sharpest designer collection to the high street.
